LOS ANGELES - The Anaheim Ducks were able to slow down the red-hot Los Angeles Kings to pick up a win in Game 3 of the Western Conference second round. They hope to repeat that success with rookie John Gibson in goal and even the best-of-seven series at two games apiece when the clubs battle tonight in Game 4 at Los Angeles. You can see all the action on TSN beginning at 9:30pm et/6:30pm pt. The Ducks said before the game that the 20-year-old Gibson would start ahead of Jonas Hiller. A second-round draft pick in 2011, he made his NHL debut late in the 2013-14 regular season and was 3-0 with a 1.33 goals against average in three outings for the Ducks. The Kings had won six in a row before dropping Thursdays home tilt at the Staples Center. Ben Lovejoys late third-period goal proved to be the difference as Anaheim beat the Kings 3-2 Thursday night in the City of Angels. It was the first loss for L.A. since it dropped a 4-3 overtime decision to the visiting San Jose Sharks on April 22. That setback put the Kings down 3-0 in their opening-round series with the Sharks, but L.A. rallied to post four straight wins to become only the fourth team in NHL history to win a best-of- seven series after losing the first three meetings. The Ducks lost the opening two games of the conference semis on home ice before breaking through with Thursdays road victory. In addition to Lovejoys goal, which made it 3-1 with 2:55 left in the third period, Corey Perry and Teemu Selanne also scored power-play goals for Anaheim. The Ducks won the tilt despite an injury to goaltender Frederik Andersen, who left the game midway through the third period with a lower-body injury and did not return. Hiller made seven saves in the final 9:58 to complete the win for Anaheim. "He was playing well and hes a guy that you can tell if hes playing well early, the glove hand seems a lot sharper and hes a lot more concerned and hes good with it. So I thought he played good," Anaheim head coach Bruce Boudreau said about Andersen, who stopped 22 shots. Andersen, a rookie, started all six games in the Ducks first-round win over the Dallas Stars before Hiller started the first two games against the Kings in Anaheim. Hiller expects to get the call tonight, but Anaheim has not ruled out Andersen for the Game 4 clash. Unfortunately for Anaheim, Andersen wasnt the only Ducks player hurt in Game 3, as forwards Matt Beleskey and Mathieu Perreault also suffered lower-body injuries in the win. If Beleskey and Perreault are forced to miss Game 4, Boudreau will likely choose their replacements from a group consisting of Emerson Etem, Tim Jackman, Rickard Rakell or Daniel Winnik. Jeff Carter and Mike Richards scored for Los Angeles on Thursday, while Jonathan Quick stopped 19 shots in defeat. Richards scored with 30.8 seconds left in regulation, but the Kings were unable to get another shot past Hiller to tie the game. "The Ducks played harder than us tonight, they executed better," Richards said. "They were a desperate team and they showed up. We know what its like to be in that position, and if the other team is more desperate than we are, they are probably going to have more success." After Thursdays meeting, the Kings fell to 2-2 as the home team this postseason while Anaheim improved to 2-2 on the road. The home team is 0-3 so far in this "Freeway Series," the first-ever playoff encounter between these Southern California rivals. "So far that hasnt meant anything, I hope it continues for at least one more game," Boudreau said of home ice. Kings forward Anze Kopitar picked up an assist on Carters goal and now has points in all 10 games this postseason, totaling four goals and 11 assists. The last King to have points in 10 straight games in one postseason was Wayne Gretzky, who had a franchise-record 12-game point streak in 1993. If the Kings can rebound with a win on Saturday, they will have a chance to close the series Monday in Anaheim. L.A., which won its first Stanley Cup title in 2012, is attempting to make the conference finals for a third straight spring. Ibrahimovic put PSG ahead when he got in front of his marker to neatly flick in Lucass cross in the 59th minute. New signing Yohan Cabaye came on as a second-half substitute and headed Ezequiel Lavezzis cross against the post in the 87th. Moments later, Lucas set up another goal from the right when fellow countryman Alex turned in his corner with a strikers finish. Mohamed Sanu Jersey . The Brazilian international goalkeeper was beaten twice in the first 12 minutes of his Reds debut in a 3-1 preseason loss to Columbus Crew in Florida earlier this week. Kemal Ishmael Jersey . The Pope greeted Klose at his general audience Wednesday and the pair had a long chat. Klose is German like the pope, although he was born in Poland. In Sundays derby, Lazio took the lead in the seventh minute after Maarten Stekelenburg brought down Klose, resulting in the Roma goalkeeper being sent off and a penalty that Hernanes converted.ANAHEIM, Calif. - For the second straight night, the Baltimore Orioles got a strong performance from a starting pitcher who spent the All-Star break in the minor leagues and stayed on his regular routine. It worked for Miguel Gonzalez, just like it did for Bud Norris. Gonzalez took a two-hit shutout into the eighth inning, Jonathan Schoop homered and J.J. Hardy hit two RBI doubles to lead the Orioles to a 4-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night. Gonzalez (5-5) was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk, where he was optioned on July 11 so that he wouldnt get stale after consecutive eight-inning no-decisions. Norris, who was optioned to Double-A Bowie on July 10, beat the Angels 4-2 Monday night in his return to the rotation. Were fortunate they both had (minor league) options," manager Buck Showalter said. "I think Bud was a day away from not being able to get optioned because of his service time, so it was a good catch by our front office. "It worked out well for both of them because they also got to spend some time in their hometowns out here. You just dont want to see guys lie around too long during the break and be inactive, but we have a lot of starters with options. So thats why we were able to do it." Gonzalez (5-5) allowed two runs and three hits in 7 2-3 innings, including a two-run homer in the eighth by All-Star game MVP Mike Trout after a walk to No. 9 hitter Hank Conger. The Angels other hits against Gonzalez were singles by Efren Navarro in the third and fifth innings. "I think it was beneficial for me, to go down there and keep doing what I was doing, and not getting that extra rest — especially after the last two outings I had," Gonzalez said. "Im pretty happy about everything in general tonight. I gave us a chance to win a ballgame." Showalter added: "Thats as good as you can see a guy pitch, especially in a hostile environment against a really good team. Thats about as sharp as Ive seen Miggy in a while. He had everything working and everything at his disposal, and he had command of it." Tommy Hunter, making his 200th career appearance, retired Albert Pujols on a grounder for the final out of the eighth and Zach Britton pitched a perfect ninth for his 18th save in 21 chances. Hunter, who was converted into a full-time reliever by the Orioles last season, lost his closer role to Britton in mid-May after consecutive blown saves. Since then, Hunter has yielded three runs and struck out 11 in 18 1-3 spanning 17 appearances — and has not allowed an earned run in a career-best 12 straight outings.dddddddddddd Britton has allowed eight runs and fanned 27 in 29 1-3 innings over 29 appearances since taking over as closer. "So far, Zachs done a good job," Showalter said. "But who knows? We might need Tommy to go back there again. I dont know if anybodys smart enough to know exactly how things are going to turn out. But so far, so good." Angels left-hander Hector Santiago matched zeroes with Gonzalez through five innings, allowing just two hits before rookie Mike Morin took over in the sixth. "Early on I was just trying to battle a little fatigue," Santiago said. "I was kind of under the weather the last couple of days. I definitely felt the fatigue kind of like building up right there in that first two innings. Then I just had a high pitch count, so I had to maintain myself and control it." Morin (2-3) threw his second pitch into the dirt and to the backstop as his left knee appeared to buckle. Manager Mike Sciocsia went out with a trainer to check on him, and the right-hander made three warmup tosses before striking out Adam Jones and Nelson Cruz. But Chris Davis reached on an infield hit and came all the way around on Hardys double to right-centre. Schoop homered to left-centre two pitches later for his eighth homer — all on the road. Schoop was originally in the No. 9 spot in the order, but got bumped up to seventh after third baseman Manny Machado was scratched just before game time because of tightness in his lower back. "Ive never had something like this before. It just spazzed up on me," Machado said. "The trainers worked on it a little bit and I went back out there before the game, but it kept locking up on me. So I thought it was just better to sit it out and let someone else take my place and help the team win. Its still a little tight, but I got a shot and well see where we are tomorrow." Hardy drove in Baltimores final run in the eighth against Fernando Salas. NOTES: With the victory, the Orioles ended the Angels streak of 10 consecutive series won at home.
